- Collective Soul - "Shine" - This hit could rival its fellow album song, "December."
- Eric Clapton - "Layla" - This song is the epitome of "classic rock."
- The Rolling Stones - "Can't you hear me knocking?" - Not one of the Stones' prominent tunes.
- Goo Goo Dolls - "Slide" - This song hit its peak right at the Milennium.
- Sheryl Crow - "If It Makes You Happy" - That rhythm guitar rocks.
- Violent Femmes - "Blister in the Sun" - A classic acoustic guitar with a double snare drum beat.
- My Morning Jacket - "I'm Amazed" - Listen to this song on itunes if you've never heard of it.
- The Scorpions - "Rock you like a Hurricane" - Germany's best band; however, the song is a bunch of cheese.
- Prince & The Revolution - "When doves cry" - My favorite Prince song.
- The Black Crowes - "Twice As Hard" - ATL's finest.
- Led Zeppelin - "Good Times Bad Times" - There are so many Zeppelin songs to choose from for this blog.
- U2 - "Mysterious Ways" - You know that I couldn't leave my favorite band off of a music list.
Feel free to add your own favorites...

Well, speaking of U2, "One" has an awesome intro as well.
"Cold Gin" or "Deuce" from KISS. Or even "Heavens On Fire" even though it's not a guitar lick; it's a vocal intro.
"Message in a Bottle" by the Police.
I'm sure there's more, but I could go on all day!
Don't forget Viva La Vida -Coldplay
Hells Bells - AC/DC
All Mixed Up - 311
Don't Fear the Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
(guitar lick & cow bell make equal marks in this song)
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
B..I say BOOOOO to you for your fear of golfing with pros!
Sabian, why would you tell anybody that you know a Coldplay song so well that the opening riff is easily identifiable to you?
You need to keep that kind of stuff hush hush ;)
why would you share blue oyster cult...every1 already knows that
Now now jasonb, you should read my blog (Useless Things Need Love Too) via the link on B's main page on Coldplay. Don't dis the Coldplay!
I like Coldplay, but they are a U2 ripoff.
Dude!
It's called "inspired." U2-inspired...
That's like calling Heavens Sake a KISS rip-off...
